A lot of my life, I have wandered from here and there, going from place to place each year and a half or so. I would get bored of where I was at and I would move on. I wanted to experience new things, whether it be a new job or a new city.
Oh how my life has changed these last two years. I have been working at the same job and working my way up the ladder. I can see the growth that I have been getting by staying in one place. It is different than the growth that I got when I was traveling.
When I was traveling, I was learning about cultures, people and seeing how I fit into each place I went. Now, I feel at home wherever I go because I learned that I am home wherever my heart is and I just make sure to bring it everywhere I am. I learned to be so present that I enjoy every moment, whether difficult or easy.
In this new season, I am learning about me. About the limits that I have and the impossible things that I can get done. Before, if I didn’t like something or if life got too hard, I moved on. Now, if I don’t like something I stay put and work on it. They are both beneficial and both needed in so many ways.
I will never look back and wish I hadn’t lived in a different country.
I now get to look forward and see what else I can do.
My newest adventure is getting a house. Something I thought would be quite easy, but have now since learned that it is a bit more complicated than I originally thought. I have help with the real estate agent and the mortgage broker which is amazing, but there are still quite a few steps after I find the house that I have yet to learn.
With each new house I see, I learn something new. One thing I learned is that some houses still have old fuse panels instead of breaker panels for electricity. As much as most of us continue to upgrade our technology each year, there are still a rare odd few that have the old school phones and electrical panels! Interesting fact to me!
It has been quite fun going through each house and gaining more and more knowledge. There is so much I didn’t know about the problems you can run into with a house. As I continue to look, I begin to realize the things I would like in a house and what I don’t like. Another layer in adulthood, I think.
What about you? What is the next thing you are working on?
Whatever it is, I hope your journey is full of adventures, happiness and many new scenarios.
Cheers!
